Ingredients

For the salmon
  • 1.5 lb salmon fillets skin-on, cut into 4 portions
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper
For the citrus glaze
  • 0.33 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cloves garlic minced

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

Prepare the salmon
  1. Heat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Arrange the salmon skin-side down in the dish.
  4. Brush the salmon with olive oil.
  5. Season with kosher salt and black pepper.
Make and apply the glaze
  1. Combine the orange juice, lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, and garlic in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  4. Brush the glaze evenly over the salmon.
Bake the salmon
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the thickest part of each fillet reaches 145°F and the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Notes

For tender salmon, check the thickest part with a thermometer and avoid baking past 145°F. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is suitable. Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
