Ingredients

For the sliders
  • 1 Nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 12 oz deli ham thinly sliced
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese sliced
For the butter topping
  • 0.5 cup butter unsalted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

Assemble the sliders
  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Keeping the rolls connected, slice the slab horizontally.
  4. Place the bottom half in the dish.
  5. Layer the ham and Swiss cheese evenly over the bottom half.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
Make the butter topping
  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and onion powder.
  3. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
Bake the sliders
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  2. Uncover and bake for 5 to 8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.
  3. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Cut apart and serve warm.

Notes

For neat slicing, keep the rolls connected while slicing the slab horizontally. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended because the rolls can lose their texture. For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free butter and cheese.
