Ingredients

For the dressing
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper
For the salad
  • 3 apples medium, crisp, cored and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup celery diced
  • 1 cup grapes seedless, halved
  • 0.5 cup walnuts chopped
  • 6 lettuce leaves

Method

Make the dressing
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, kosher salt, and black pepper.
Assemble the salad
  1. Add the apples to the dressing immediately and toss to coat.
  2. Fold in the celery, grapes, and walnuts.
  3. Arrange the lettuce leaves on a serving platter and spoon the salad over them.

Notes

For the freshest texture, toss the apples with the dressing immediately after cutting. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; freezing is not recommended. For a lighter dressing, replace some or all of the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
